Sick, Sick and More Sick...

Well, on a postive note I am feeling better. My fever broke overnight. When Mommy took my temp this morning it was 97.8 so that was good news. I haven't had to have any Tylenol today. I have been really sleepy. I took a 2 1/2 hour nap this morning with Mommy while we were sitting in the chair in the family room. I have taken a few other cat naps off and on since then as well. I'm also eating more so that makes Mommy and Daddy happy.

On not so good a note...Daddy woke up this morning with a stomach bug. He doesn't feel good at all. I feel bad for him, I know that it is no fun to be sick and that also means we can't play together like we usually do. He says he is feeling a little bit better tonight but his tummy still feels kind of weird.

Mommy woke up and was really tired this morning and her tummy felt a little funny. She is not as bad off as Daddy but as the day has gone on she says that her whole body hurts, she is cold all the time (colder than normal since Daddy always tells her that her thermostat is broken) and doesn't have much of an appetite.

I'm trying really hard to be a good girl and play with my toys so they don't have to do too much. They both keep saying that this is no good...both of them being sick at the same time. I know they are worried that I am going to get what they have, hopefully that won't happen.

We'll keep you updated on the germ factory that we are living in!

Growing Big and Strong

Hi everyone, I thought I might try an experiment. I'm going to try posting pictures of me at each of my "month" anniversaries (1-month, 2-months, etc). Really I should have probably waited until Dec. 25 because then I could done five months. Oh well, we'll see how this works. See if you can tell if I've changed over time...

I know one thing that's changed for sure! When daddy took me into the doctor on Wednesday they of course wanted to weigh me. They said I weighed 16 lbs 7 oz. Granted, I still had a few of my clothes on when the weighed me, but that means I've gained 1 lb. 9 oz. in about three weeks. I guess daddy has nicknamed me his "little storage tank" (ha ha daddy).

That's all for now. I do have to say that I think I'm feeling better. My temp was only 100.1 this morning and I basically slept through the night. I got up once for some food.

RSV...I'm not a big fan!

Well, we found out today that I have RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). Basically this means that I have a fever, a cough, loss of appetite and I am congested. Luckily, at this point I don't have the part where babies wheeze. Mommy and Daddy need to keep an eye on my breathing and take me back to the doctor if that starts.

Starting on Monday night I had a fever of 102.1. Mommy called the after hours nurse line and they asked her a whole bunch of questions. They thought that it was due to my stuffy nose and said I should have some Tylenol. I didn't sleep very well on Monday night but my temp was gone on Tuesday morning. Because I'm still working on my tooth Mommy and Daddy thought that my fever might have been related to that. Last night when they took my temp it was 102.3 and I had had been taking my Tylenol every 5-6 hours. I didn't sleep very well again last night and I also developed a cough. This morning my temp was 101.7. So, they decided Daddy would stay home with me and would call the doctor. We had an appointment at 11:40. They swabbed my nose to check for both the flu and RSV. The test came back and said it was RSV. The doctor felt I was doing well considering I had it and told Daddy what to watch for. She said that I was contagious to kids under 2 until my fever broke and that she thought I'd have a fever for another couple of days. I'm really sleepy but for the most part Mommy and Daddy keep saying that I'm in a pretty good mood when I'm awake.

So, Daddy is going to stay home with me again tomorrow and Mommy will stay home on Friday. I don't really like being sick. I'm so tired that I don't even really want to try to stand up which lately has been my favorite activity. At least this is happening this week and not next week when we are in Madison for Christmas.

Just thought I'd let you all know what is going on with me. I'll keep you posted on how I'm feeling.

A Hard Pill to Swallow

So today is kind of a historic day...well, in a way. If you'll notice, I'm wearing my Wisconsin outfit. It was a hard pill for daddy to swallow. For those who don't know, daddy is a huge University of Minnesota Golden Gopher fan. The Wisconsin Badgers are their arch nemesis. He's even been known to call them the WisconSIN BADgers sometimes and chant, "Better Dead Than Red!" at times too. Well, I guess he finally caved in and let me wear the outfit. Thanksgiving Greetings

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all had a safe and fun day. Daddy, mommy and I went to Daddy's Aunt and Uncle's house in Waconia. We're home now and we might hang out with some of neighbors later tonight.

Mommy and daddy said something about putting up the Christmas tree sometime over the long weekend. I think daddy went down to the basement and brought it upstairs into the living room.

Here's a picture of my cute Thanksgiving outfit that Noni bought for me. Isn't it cute? I really like it (but you can probably tell that by the smile on my face!). If you look really close on the second picture, you might be able to see that it says "Little Turkey" on the feet.

I can't wait for next year when I can actually eat some of the yummy Thanksgiving treats. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

4 Months Old!!!

It was a big day today on my 4 month birthday!!! I had my 4 month check up with the doctor and I got my first haircut!!! My visit with the doctor went well. I have another cold but they told us that was all it was. My ears looked great so that was good news. I did have to have that yucky tasting medicine in my mouth again so that I won't get something called Rotovirus and then I had to get 4 more shots. I really don't like those things. Mommy and Daddy said I did a great job. I didn't cry at all for the first one, only a little cry with the second but I let them have it on the third and fourth! I settled down pretty quickly afterward and have just been kind of sleepy since then. Daddy took the afternoon off so we came home and hung out so I didn't have to go back to daycare with sore legs.

Tonight Mommy went to get her haircut. Daddy and I went along because they wanted to see if Clare would trim my hair. It was getting pretty long in the back. Mommy and Daddy kept saying that I looked like I had a mullet. It was also getting a little crazy over my ears. So, when Mommy was done Clare trimmed me up. I sat very quietly on Mommy's lap and watched in the mirror. This one was on Clare which was nice of her. Mommy and Daddy say that I won't be getting my hair cut at Spalon again until I can pay for it myself because it isn't cheap! Here is a picture of me after Clare was done!That's all for now!

Quality Time

Greetings everyone! My apologies for not posting too many pictures or videos as of late. I've been feeling a little under the weather with a cold and mommy and daddy haven't been taking quite as many pictures or shooting videos.

This weekend was good. Daddy and I got to spend a lot of good quality time together over the weekend. One of mommy's college friends was in town from Iowa and mommy hung out with her and some other college girlfriends on Friday night and Saturday. I guess they hung out at "Auntie" Cynthia's house on Friday and on Saturday they went to lunch, got pedicures and went to dinner.

Daddy and I just hung out on Friday night. On Saturday daddy took apart his old computer desk (to be disposed of) and then we went to visit Grandma Edna for a little while in the afternoon. We also got to see auntie Molly too.

We met mommy's friends Jill and Cynthia for breakfast on Sunday morning before Jill had to head home to Iowa. On the way home we stopped at Old Navy to exchange some stuff then went to Wal Mart to get me some more formula. We also stopped Ace Hardware to look for some hedge trimmers and some tree wrap for mommy and daddy's house. They didn't have what we needed (I guess) so we had to stop at Home Depot and another Ace Hardware to get everything we needed! Whew....it was a lot of stops! Luckily I got to wait in the car with mommy while daddy ran in for most of them.

Busy Weekend!!!

Hi Everybody!
I hope you all had a good Halloween! I had fun helping Mommy and Daddy hand out candy to our 42 trick or treaters. Saturday morning we got up early and went to meet Chris, Jennifer and Davis to go the the U of M homecoming parade. The picture above is Daddy and I at the parade with the U of M marching band in the background. Daddy had fun reminiscing about when he used to march. After the parade we met up with our friend Kevin and we all went out for breakfast.
Yesterday afternoon we met Auntie Molly at the park and we took some pictures to use on our Christmas card. I can't show you the ones of all of us but I thought I could share this one with you. Last night Grandma Edna and Great Grandma Ruth came over for dinner. I had so much fun playing with them!

Today we did some errands, the battery in Daddy's car died so we had to go to Fleet Farm to get him a new one. Then we went to Target and now it is time to relax and hang out at home for the rest of the day.

Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween everyone and welcome to Friday! I thought I might post a picture of my Halloween costume for you all to see. Mommy and daddy say I'm still a little too small to actually go trick or treating, but I will be helping to hand out treats tonight to all the neighborhood kids.

[Un]Official 3-Month Portrait

Here's my unofficial official 3-month old portrait. Can you tell if I've grown or not?

Mommy and daddy left me with Grandma on Saturday night while they went out for something they called their "anniversary" I guess (I think it's actually the 28th, but the celebrated this weekend). I think they said something about going to a steakhouse for dinner and then spending a night at the St. Paul Hotel. Grandma and I had a good time playing while mommy and daddy had some "away" time. They and I were both happy to see each other when they got home today.

I think this week will be pretty quiet. I don't think mommy or daddy have much going on. I hope you all had a good weekend.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

Here is a picture from my first trip to buy pumpkins for Halloween! Good thing I turned 3 months today and can sit up like a big girl! It would have been hard for me to sit in all of those pumpkins even a few weeks ago! My Halloween shoes even have rattles in them so it is fun to make them move and make noise! I'm going to be a black cat for Halloween. Grandma Edna bought me a cute black onsie with a glow in the dark cat face! I'm sure Mommy and Daddy will take pictures of me on Friday.

My Weekend

Here is a little video I made to tell you all about my weekend. Watch it first and in case you don't know Addison "speak" see below and I will interpret in writing what I had to say!

Ok, so here it is in case you didn't catch all of it. Daddy took Friday afternoon off and we all went to the apple orchard, except that I slept through the whole thing. Mommy and Daddy tell me that it was a very nice orchard. Check out the picture below of me sleeping by the apples. We bought some apples to eat, some apples to make apple crisp and a yummy apple pie which we baked on Saturday. Saturday we hung out at home and then went to dinner with some of Daddy's friends from college. It was fun and I had not met all of them before. Today we went to one of the neighbors for lunch and to watch the Viking/Bear game. Uncle Ross, I cheered for your Bears, don't tell Daddy.

Tonight we're just hanging out at home. Mommy goes back to work tomorrow and I start daycare. We dropped off my bottles, diapers and everything else I might need at Barb's house on Friday so I'm ready to go for tomorrow. Mommy has only cried twice tonight. Daddy and I keep telling her that it is going to be ok!

Big Girl!

Check me out! I'm such a big girl. Yesterday I let Mommy and Daddy know that I was not interested in being held like a baby unless I was eating. I want to sit up and see the world like a big girl! So, this morning Mommy decided to try to put me in my "Bumbo Chair" and I LOVED IT!!!!! As you can see I had a big smile on my face that stayed there the whole time I was in my seat. It is so great to be able to see more than the ceiling and things hanging above me. Mommy and I played with some toys and I just kept smiling and smiling. Mommy said I looked pretty proud of myself, which I have to say I was. It's hard work holding my head up like that so I can't sit in it for too long and Mommy can't walk away from me but I bet I was in there for at least 5-10 minutes. Then I started to get the lean to the right so we decided that we would do it again later.

The weather is yucky here today so Mommy and I are just hanging out at home. We don't have very many days left to spend doing that before Mommy has to go back to work. She goes back next Monday so we have one more week. We have plans the next couple of days to see some of Mommy's friends but that's about it.

My Baptism

Good Morning Everyone,
I thought that I should post a picture from my baptism and tell you all about my day on Sunday. It was a fun and special day. I was exhausted by that night. Mommy, Daddy, Noni, Grandma Betty, Grandma Edna, Auntie Molly, Auntie Lori, Uncle Ross, Sally, Jeanette, Cynthia and Rochelle and I all went to church at the noon service. Cynthia and Rochelle are my Godmothers so that is very special. I was a very good girl during church. I ate my bottle and then took a nap. After the service was the actual baptism. I woke up for that part and didn't even cry when the pastor put the water on my head. It was kind of like when Daddy washes my hair only there wasn't a head massage this time. After church we all went back to our house for Famous Dave's and a special cake that Grandma Edna made. Everyone tells me it was all really yummy. I had milk.

We hung out that afternoon and then it was time for everyone to leave. I was asleep by 8:00 that night. Mommy and Daddy tried to get me to wake up to eat one more time but I didn't. I didn't even wake up when they changed me into my pajamas.

There are more pictures from Sunday that I will send out later. Thank you to everyone that was there with me on Sunday. It meant a lot to share my day with so many special people. I am a lucky little girl to have such a great family and so many people that love me!

Go Uncle Ross

Today I went and watched Uncle Ross race in one of his "cyclocross" races. It was fun! Apparently in cyclocross racing you have to ride your bike around this course then occasionally jump off your bike and run over hurdles, get back on then keep on riding. The course goes up and down hills and goes over grass, sand and bumps.

Uncle Ross took 1st place in his race. Go Uncle Ross! Below is a video I put together of uncle Ross racing. Check it out and enjoy!

Big News at our house last night...

Hi Everyone!

Big news at our house last night....I slept through the night! I didn't go down until about 10:30 but then I slept until 6:45 this morning! Mommy was so excited!! She said she woke up at 5am and had to come in and put her hand on my tummy to make sure that I was OK. Once she knew I was fine she said she went back to sleep with a smile on her face. When I finally got up we celebrated that I had slept all night!

Daddy is in Rochester for a conference yesterday to today so we had to tell him when he called this morning. He was pretty happy too. We'll have to see if I keep this up, I know mommy and daddy would like me to.

It's a big weekend for me. I get baptized on Sunday. Noni got here this morning, Uncle Ross and Auntie Lori will get here late tonight and Grandma Betty comes tomorrow. Sunday we will all go to church along with Grandma Edna, Auntie Molly and Cynthia and Rochelle (they are my Godmothers). After the service and the baptism we will all come back to our house for some lunch. I will be a fun day and nice to have everyone together!

My Updated Stats!

Well, it appears I have grown a lot since my 4 week check up with the doctor. As of today my official stats are:

Weight: 11 lbs 15 1/2 oz (79%)
Height: 24 inches (95%)
Head Circumference: 15 3/4 inches (81%)

The doctor said I am doing great! I am growing, eating and hitting my milestones just like I should be! The worst part of the appointment was that I had to get 4 shots and take some yucky medicine by mouth. I cried a lot and Mommy and Daddy almost cried too. I'm doing ok now though. I took some tylenol right before I got the shots so I think that is helping. The doctor said my thrush is not totally gone (Mommy and Daddy didn't think it was when they gave me my last dose of medicine yesterday) so I have to do 10 more days of that yucky medicine in my mouth. Oh well, I'm getting used to it.

Tonight Mommy and I are going to a party that the neighborhood ladies are having for me. Daddy and the guys are hanging out at another neighbor's house. Tomorrow night Mommy and Daddy go to Humor to Fight the Tumor and then on Sunday we're getting together with a bunch of the Luther gang. It should be a fun weekend!

By the way, Mommy and Daddy had a great time on their "Hot Date" last night. They went to see Robin Williams live. They said he was really funny and Mommy was very surprised when Daddy finally told her what they were doing!

2 Months Old!

Hi Everybody,
Can you believe it? I am 2 months old today. Boy, time flies when you are having fun and discovering this new and exciting world! Mommy and Daddy say I have grown and changed so much in 2 months. I am much more awake and alert and I smile and giggle all the time! I love it when mommy and daddy talk to me, make faces at me and kiss on my chubby cheeks! That makes me giggle a lot! I'm sleeping pretty well at night. I only get up once to eat, usually around 3am. Mommy and Daddy have been taking turns every other night getting up with me, that way they can sleep all night long sometimes. I don't think it will be long until I can make it all night too. Tomorrow I have my 2 month appointment with the doctor. I have to get 4 shots, I'm not looking forward to that at all. Hopefully they will be quick about it. Mommy and Daddy keep saying that they are curious to see how much I weigh.

Today Mommy and I went shopping at the Mall of America. She and daddy have a "hot date" tonight so she got a new shirt to wear. We were also shopping for something for her to wear to the Humor to Fight the Tumor benefit on Saturday night. Mommy, Daddy, and Auntie Molly are going this year. I can't wait to see Mommy and Daddy all dressed up! I know they will have a nice night. There will be a picture of Grandpa Al on the Honoree Wall this year so that will be special.

Well, it's time for me to eat again so I better sign off. I'll update after my appointment tomorrow and maybe we can even post some pictures or another video of me!

Pile In...It's a Road Trip!

We just got back home from my first road trip to Madison. Addison in Madison...ha ha, that's funny! Overall I had a pretty good time. I got to meet lots of people and they all thought I am very cute...they kept saying that all the time. Oh, and they also kept talking about how much hair I have too.

We left our house on Friday morning and I slept almost the entire ride down. I only woke up about 20 minutes outside of Madison because I was wet and hungry. I think mommy and daddy were happy that I travel so good.

We stopped by grandma's work and said hi then made our way over to Noni's (that's Italian for grandpa) house. We hung out there for a while then met up with Auntie Lori, Paul and Mackenzie and went out for dinner. After dinner I got to meet uncle Ross and Auntie Mo too. I also got to meet a very big (95 lbs.) brown dog named Jackson. He liked to lick my head.

On Saturday I went to two parties. One at grandma's and one at Noni's. They were both very excited to show me off.

Today we left around 1:30 p.m. and got home around 6:00 p.m. I slept the whole way home. Now I'm stretched out on my activity mat smacking my favorite new toy around (my bug).

Bug Smackdown

As mommy promised, here is the video of me showin' my bug who's the boss...it turns out that mommy and daddy's postings problem weren't technical problems at all. They were more what you might call "user error". They discovered that you actually have to read the directions on the website when trying to upload a video and that it can't be more than 10 MB in size. Silly mommy and daddy.

Ok, so my technological skills are not as good as Todd's. He showed me what to do last night and I have tried multiple times today to upload the video of Addison and her bug and I can't get it to work. So, I will ask him if he can work on that sometime soon so that you can all see it.

Getting Better

Hi Everyone,
I just thought I would let you all know that my thrush is getting better. My eating seems to be back to normal and my mouth is looking better, or so Mommy and Daddy tell me. I still have white spots but not as bad as they were on Monday. I'm getting used to the medicine too. I still don't like it but I don't make as many funny faces, I just thrash my head around and make it hard for Mommy and Daddy to get the Q-Tip in my mouth.

Mommy and I were busy today. We had coffee with her friend Brenda that she used to teach with, then we went to the Apple store, and then to Target. This afternoon we went for a 2 mile walk. I was awake for part of it but then I took a nap.

I'm looking forward to my first trip to Madison this weekend. I think Mommy and Daddy are a little nervous about how the car ride will go, hopefully I will sleep a lot.

Mommy took another video of me yesterday, I've really learned how to hit my bug now! Hopefully Daddy can teach Mommy how to post that on here later tonight.

Thrushing Around

Yup it's official, I have thrush. Yuck! Mommy called the clinic this morning and described my symptoms and they concluded that's what I have. Now mommy and daddy have to put this medicine (Nystatin) on a Q-tip and swab it around in my mouth....four...times...a..day. Ucky. Mommy said she doesn't think the medicine tastes very bad, but I don't like it. I make funny faces after she gives it to me. Maybe mommy and daddy can get a video of some of those faces.

Anyway, I have to take the medicine for 10 days and hopefully everything will clear up and I will be all good again.

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone! Last night, mommy, daddy and I went to visit our friends Chris, Jennifer and Davis. We ordered take-out from Famous Dave's BBQ (but I didn't get to eat any of it). I slept while mommy and daddy tried to play Rock Band on the PlayStation.

Mommy and daddy were excited because I slept from 10:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. That means I only got up once during the night.

Today we're watching football. We watched the Vikings kind of give their game away and now we're watching the guy who used to be the QB on my 2nd favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.
