On to New Year's Eve!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. Daddy, mommy and I went to church with Grandma Edna and Aunt Molly on Christmas eve. Here's a picture of me in my Christmas dress.

Grandma and Molly came over to our house on Christmas Day. They and mommy and daddy worked really hard to make some tasty food for our Christmas dinner. We had a standing rib roast, manchego mashed potatoes, green been casserole, salad and rolls. I didn't eat any of the beef, but I really liked the potatoes!

I got some really fun gifts. Mommy and daddy got me a shopping cart that I can use to take "groceries" to my play kitchen. They also got me a "ball popper" that shoots balls into the air. Between you and me, I think daddy likes playing with that one as much as I do!

I also got some really cute clothes, some books and some other fun stuff. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

Love,
Addison

Christmas Shoes!!!

Ok, the video is not going to be of me singing the cheesy song about buying Mama a pair of Christmas shoes! We stopped at Target today so that Mommy could buy me shoes to go with my pretty Christmas dress. I was excited to try them on when we got home and even more excited to dance in them because they make noise on the hardwood floors! Check me out!

Winter Wonderland

Greetings all! My apologies for the lack of posts. Mommy and daddy say something about us just being crazy busy.

Not too much too exciting to report around here. I continue to grow like a weed and entertain mom and dad with some of my funny habits. They get a chuckle out of watching me dance to The Laurie Berkner Band. I think she's one of may favorites thus far. Mom and dad don't seem to mind watching her over and over and over too much either.

I just got over a pretty nasty cold that eventually led to me getting a double-ear infection. I guess the doctor told my mommy and daddy that even though I have ear tubes now, I might still occasionally get an ear infection. There wasn't a whole lot of sleep going on most of last week until we went to the doctor and I got some antibiotics.

Last Friday, mommy and daddy put this crazy outfit and me and took me outside to play in some fluffy white stuff (snow). They said something about me having to wear all the garb so I wouldn't get cold outside. Anyway, here are some pictures of my first adventure out there. I hope you enjoy them!

Checking out the snow!

Helping daddy shovel.

I guess mommy and daddy put their Christmas cards in the mail the other day. So, hopefully you all get yours soon. Have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Halloween!!!!

In my Halloween Outfit!!

Helping Mom hand out candy to the kids

Here we are...I'm the Pumpkin and Mommy and Daddy are "Jack and Jill after they fell down the hill!" I thought they looked pretty funny.

Here I am...the cutest pumpkin in the patch!

I hope everyone had a fun Halloween, I know that I did! I had a party at daycare on Friday and got to wear my costume. Then on Halloween I went trick or treating at Grandma Edna's and then Daddy took me trick or treating to a few of the neighbors houses. I liked ringing the doorbells. After we were done I helped mommy hand out candy and then we went across the street for a Halloween party. Everyone was dressed up. I had a lot of fun, so much that I didn't go to bed until 9:30pm!

Dancin' Queen...

Here is a little video for your viewing enjoyment. I wanted to show off my new moves. Mom and Dad tell me I'm quite the dancing queen! This is probably my favorite way to spend my time these days! Enjoy.

Catching Up

Hi Everyone,
I have to apologize, I not been very good about keeping you all up to date on what has been going on around the Lusk house in the last couple of months. I have been a busy girl! Since turning one I have been on the move...places to go, things to explore, people to see!

Here are a few things I have been up to. We went to the cabin with Noni and Mary Ann labor day weekend. Boy, was that fun! I love riding in the boat and I like helping Noni drive. I even learned how to honk the horn!

On September 19th Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Edna and Auntie Molly went to the Humor to Fight the Tumor benefit. They got all dressed up! Boy did they look nice! They said they had a really nice time and that they were encouraged to hear about the progress that has been made in research to treat Glioblastoma. One of the medicines they gave to Grandpa Al is actually having a 50% success rate these days. They said it was a nice evening and a nice way to honor Grandpa Al.

The next weekend Mommy and Daddy flew on an airplane (I like to point to all of the airplanes in the sky). They went to New York for Aaron and Kristina's wedding. Grandma Betty came to stay with me. Mommy and Daddy said the wedding was very fun. I had a great time with Grandma. We read lots of books, played and had lunch with Grandma Edna on Monday. I was sure happy to see Mommy and Daddy on Monday. It was fun to hang out just me and Grandma though.

Last weekend we watched a lot of football. It was the Wisconsin Badger vs Minnesota Gopher game on Saturday. Daddy got me dressed so guess what I wore...yep, my Gopher gear. Mommy was not very happy about that. Oh well, she said it didn't matter since her Badgers won! Monday night was the Packer/Viking game...another divided household game. This time daddy was happy because his team won. Auntie Molly came over to watch the game..she and Mommy had something called a wager on the game. Now Mommy owes Auntie Molly dinner.

Other than that, we've all had a cold this week. I stayed home from daycare today. I had a little fever overnight but it seems to be gone today. Daddy stayed home with me this morning and Mommy is home this afternoon.

In other news...I've learned to dance! I love to high step and turn in circles. Daddy says he can see my potential already to be in the marching band. I LOVE my books. I look at them all the time and love to have anyone and everyone read to me. I'm also very steady on my feet and love to run everywhere. I'm still working on my words but boy do I understand a lot. I can throw my own diapers away and I go to the gate and shake it to tell mom and dad I'm ready for bed!

Ok, that should catch you all up! I'll post some new pictures and another update soon, I promise!

Love,
Addison

Week in Pictures...

Here I am on Sunday night going for a wagon ride with my friend Davis. We had fun, we talked to each other the whole time!

I love riding backwards on my toy, it is so much fun!!

We went on a picnic last Saturday in Hastings at Veteran's Memorial Park. It is on the Mississippi River. It was windy and a little chilly but I like watching the boats.

This box is sure fun to play with!!

Hope you all had a good week. We are off to Madison tomorrow afternoon for a visit. Mommy's cousin Patti is in town from Wyoming so we are looking forward to seeing her. Mommy and Daddy are hoping that since we are leaving at nap time that I will sleep most of the way there. Since I started walking I'm not a big fan of my car seat...I like to be on the move, not strapped in one place for more than 2 minutes. I'm working on getting 3 teeth on the top. That is a lot at once, thank goodness for my Motrin at night. Does it say anything that I open my mouth and get excited to take it before bed?

Have a great weekend!

Addison

Cruisin' Girl!

We had my 12 month appointment today with the doctor. She said that I am right on track! My tubes looked great and my ears looked perfect. I was a brave girl and got 3 shots today. I cried and made sure that the nurse knew that I wasn't very happy about it but I settled down pretty quickly. We were given the ok to start whole milk. I think Mommy and Daddy said that they are going to finish off my formula that they have and then make the switch. Here are my 12 month stats: Weight: 22 lbs 10 oz (76%), Height: 29 1/2 inches tall (64%), Head Circumference: 18 1/8 inches (82%).

Check me out! I am cruisin'. After only 3 days I am much more steady on my feet! I don't sit still for more than a few seconds, I've got places to go! It is so much fun, I love this walking business.

Enjoy my video!

"That's One Small Step for [Wo]Man, One Giant Leap for Mom and Dad..."

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a good week and are enjoying your weekend. Just for fun, and to commemorate the Apollo moon landing I thought I'd post a small video of me taking my first steps. Well, and I am turning one you know so I have to act like a big girl now...

I guess we have some sort of small birthday celebration on tap for Saturday.

Love, Addison.

It's Been Awhile!

Cheesey Smile!

Happy 4th of July! We went to a baby shower and had a neighborhood party at our house. I didn't stay awake for fireworks this year. Mom and Dad said maybe next year.

Here I am trying out my new swimming pool! I was a big fan or splashing in the water from outside the pool and I like looking at it but I was NOT happy about getting in! I do like my swimsuit though.

A couple weekends ago Auntie Lori, Mackenzie and Grandma Betty came to visit. We went to Underwater Adventure. I really liked looking at all of the fish! Here are Daddy and I at Underwater Adventure. We also celebrated my birthday a little early.

These are the party favors I'm taking to daycare on Friday when I celebrate my birthday there. Boy, they look fun! Auntie Molly had some when we were in Highmore and they blew BIG bubbles. I can't wait!

Mommy and Daddy keep telling me that they can't believe that I am going to be 1 year old on Saturday! We are having a birthday BBQ, I can't wait to eat some cake. I'm sure there will be many pictures to come!

All Good from the ENT!

Hi Everyone!

Daddy and I went to the ENT this morning for my 3 week post-op check-up. The news was good! My hearing tested better than it did the last time I was there and the doctor said that there was no fluid on my ears and that all looked perfect with my tubes!

It has been awhile since I last updated. We have been busy! We spent 4 days in Highmore, SD celebrating my great grandma Ruth's 90th birthday with all of the Lusk family. I met a bunch of new people, went to my first parade and had fun hanging out with all of Grandpa Lusk's relatives. I wasn't a big fan of sleeping in the hotel room though. Mommy and Daddy were very tired.

After we got back I got pink eye and then I gave it to Mommy. We are both doing better now after a week of eye drops. This past weekend Mommy and Daddy did some work in the yard. Our neighbors were getting rid of their mulch so Mommy and Daddy took about 2/3 of it for our flower beds. We had a BBQ on Monday night at the Rovn's house. The Holts were in town from Kansas City. That was fun to play with Davis and Maren.

I'm busy talking and moving all over. I've learned to say Da Da and Ma Ma. I also learned how to shake my head "No." Whenever Mommy or Daddy tell me "no" I shake my head. They seem to think it is pretty funny. I've also started standing up without holding onto anything!

We have been working on getting me to fall asleep by myself in my crib. I really like when Mommy and Daddy rock me to sleep but they keep telling me that I'm a big girl now and that I can do it myself. I haven't been very happy with this idea but I'm learning to accept it. The first couple nights I let them know I wasn't happy about their idea for about 45 minutes-1 hour but now I only cry for a minute or two. I figure it's not worth the energy since they aren't going to come in and pick me up anyway but I like to let them know that I still like the old way of falling asleep better.

I'll post some more pictures soon! We are all looking forward to the long weekend and a BBQ with the neighbors on the 4th of July!

Addison

Pictures!

Here I am during my first trip to the Como Zoo on Memorial Day! I was awake for about 1/2 of the trip.

I can crawl really fast now!!

I love to stand...ALL THE TIME!

Here I am at the cabin, ready for my first boat ride! I wasn't so sure about the whole thing but I ended up really liking it. I especially liked watching the wake behind the boat!

My second haircut last Wednesday. Mommy and Daddy said I looked like a "rag-a-muffin" and that I needed a trim! I sat in the chair all by myself!

I hope you all had a fun weekend!

Addison

Tubes... Done!

Playing with some toys while I'm waiting for my surgery

Daddy trying to keep me entertained...I was hungry, tired and getting impatient

Here I am in recovery...all done! Boy did that graham cracker and water taste good.

Well, yesterday was the big day! I got tubes in my ears. After 7 ear infections since the end of January it was time. My surgery was scheduled for 11:15am so that meant that I couldn't eat any solids after midnight. Mommy and Daddy were planning to wake me up at 3:30am to feed me a bottle because I couldn't have any formula after 4am but I woke up myself at 3:29am. Then I went back to sleep until 7:ooam. I was able to have some water and some jello before 8am. We had to be at the Children's Day Surgery Center at 10am. When we got there they checked us in and then not long after that the nice nurse gave me some hospital jammies to wear, talked to mom and dad, took my temperature, weighed and measured me and checked my oxygen level. After that we went back to the waiting room. Shortly after that a nice lady came and talked to us about how the day would go once the doctor was there and also told us a little about the how they would put me to sleep. Then we waited for what seemed like forever! I played with some toys, Mommy and Daddy took me to see the fish, we looked at pictures of fish, we walked and walked. Finally I fell asleep on Mommy's shoulder. After a little longer Mommy and Daddy talked to the doctor that was going to really put me to sleep and then we met with my ENT. The surgery started about 45 minutes late.

Mommy and Daddy said the worst part was when they put me to sleep. Mommy held me nice and tight and the doctor put a yucky smelling mask on my face. I didn't like it at all. Mommy just kept talking to me and then I was asleep. I guess they put me on the bed, Mommy and Daddy gave me kisses and then I was off to the surgery room. I was in there about 10 minutes and then the doctor went out and talked to mom and dad. He told them I did great and that the tubes were in! I went to the Phase I Recovery for about 10 minutes and then I went to Phase II Recovery where Mommy and Daddy were waiting for me. Boy, did I have a big smile for them when I saw them. I was wide awake and ready for some water and a graham cracker. The nurse listened to my heart a couple times, made sure I did ok with the water and cracker and then we were on our way home by a little after 1pm. I fell asleep on the way home and slept for 2 hours.

When I woke up I was my normal happy self. Grandma Edna and Molly came to visit for awhile. Mommy and Daddy gave me Tylenol for the rest of the day and we have drops that have to go in my ears 2x/day for the next week to make sure my tubes stay clear. I ate a good dinner and was in bed early. It was a long day but my ears sure feel better!

Love,
Addison

It's Been Awhile....

Hey Eveyrone,
I realize I have not been the best about posting updates lately. I am a busy girl these days and haven't been on the computer much, even though I do like to sneak up on mom or dad when they are on it and try to turn it off!

I am very busy these days trying to learn to walk and discover all kinds of new things! I now pull myself up on everything and anything I can find. I walk around furniture, I hold on with one hand to reach down to pick up a toy I dropped and last night I even figured out how to climb up the stairs. Mom and Dad said I was pretty quick for a first timer! I learned to open the cupboard door to the pantry this week too! Now I can really explore some things in there. My other new thing is that I really like to feed myself! I'm not a big fan of Mommy and Daddy feeding me off of a spoon. I like hot dogs, ham, cheese, carrots, potatoes, mac and cheese...you name it, if it can be cut into a small piece I like to do it myself!

Mommy, Daddy and I are loving the nice weather. We have been going for lots of walks in the evenings and I love to take my walker out on the sidewalk and show Mom, Dad and the neighbors how fast I can go. My friend Sam, who lives next door, got his own park in his backyard so we have been over there swinging too.

I've had another couple of ear infections and I am working on my 4th tooth in a week. It's been a little rough. I went back to the ENT yesterday. The doctor, Mommy and Daddy decided it is time to put tubes in my ears. This is the 7th or 8th infection since the end of January. I'm scheduled to have those put in Friday, June 12th. They tell me it is a pretty simple procedure and that I should feel like normal within about an hour after they "surgery" is done.

We're off to the cabin to visit Noni this weekend. Uncle Ross and Aunt Mo will be there too. I hope it is arm enough to go for a little boat ride. I've never done that before but I think I might like it.

I'll post more pictures soon!

Addison

Quick Update!

Hangin' on the patio in my new walker!

Hey, what is this green stuff?

Hey Everybody,
I thought I would give you a quick update on what I have been up to since my last post. Mommy and Daddy keep telling me that I'm turning into such a big girl! I have learned to pull myself up on things and I LOVE to walk either with Mommy and Daddy's help or in my walker.

It was beautiful out on Sunday so Mommy and I hung out on the patio while Daddy mowed the yard. I really liked watching what he was doing but more than that I like checking out the plants. Mommy kept telling me I needed to wear my hat because it was really sunny but I wasn't a big fan of my hat so I would throw it on the ground and then Mommy would pick it up and put it back on my head. It was a fun game!

On Monday Mommy and Daddy decided that I needed to have my ears checked because they were pretty sure they were infected. They are pretty darn good at being able to tell these things! Sure enough, they were right. Both of my ears are infected. The doctor actually thinks that my ears never cleared after the infection I had 3 weeks ago. So, because I have pretty much exhausted my options of antibiotics the doctor decided that I should have shots of antibiotics. She said they are the big guns! I had a shot on Monday, Tuesday and again today. I was NOT happy about any of this and I was sure to let the whole office know it. When they checked my ears today the left one was better but the right was still very infected. We go in again on Friday and they will see how the right one looks after this last shot. We have another appointment with the ENT on June 3rd. Mommy and Daddy are pretty sure the doctor is going to need to put tubes in my ears.

We are staying home this weekend. Mommy and Daddy have a hot date on Friday night. Auntie Molly gave them tickets to Phantom of the Opera for Christmas so they are going to dinner and to Phantom on Friday night. I'm going to hang out with Rochelle, James and Nelson. Tomorrow night we are celebrating Daddy's birthday...steaks on the grille and Coco Lopez cake. We don't have any big plans the rest of the weekend. I think I heard Mommy say something about maybe going to the zoo...I wonder what that is?? Guess I'll find out!

Addison

Navy Sealin' It

I mentioned in my last post that I really like to do the "Army crawl" all over the place. What better way to show off than to post a video? Check a couple of them out below!

Grandma Betty came to visit us this weekend for Mother's Day. We invited Grandma Edna and Auntie Molly over for brunch on Sunday too. That was good. We had an egg casserole, blintzes, muffins, fresh fruit and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus for brunch.

Hope you all had a great weekend too!

9 Month Stats

Hi Everyone,
I'm a little behind in posting my stats from my 9 month appointment last Monday. My appointment went well. I'm growing and doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. I weighed
20 lbs 1 oz and am 28 1/2 inches long. I was only in the 86% for height this time compared to the 96% the last couple of check ups. We did find out when we were there that I had another double ear infection. I finished my antibiotics last Friday and seem to be better.

I'm a busy girl these days and am on the move. I've decided that
traditional crawling isn't my style. Instead I prefer to "army crawl." Mommy and Daddy say I make a good little navy seal. I love to crawl all over and explore. I'm very interested in the computer cord and the fire place but Mommy and Daddy keep blocking my way and won't let me get to these very interesting things. I also love to practice my standing and walking. One of my favorite things to do is to hold onto Mommy or Daddy's fingers and walk across the room!

Here are a couple recent pictures of me!

First time sitting in the grass!

Showing off how I stand up in my crib!

I hope you are all doing well.

Sweet Sixteen?

Hi everyone! We had a busy last weekend. My uncle Ross and aunt Mo were in town to visit. They were in town to do a 100-mile bike ride. The weather wasn't so nice for the ride. It was really cold and rainy (and windy too). Mommy and daddy followed Ross and Mo with their car to be their "sag wagon". While we were out and about mommy and daddy had fun finding ways to entertain me. Here's a picture below of daddy giving me some driving lessons. He said it's never too early to start learning. How do I look?

On Saturday we went and had lunch at this local place called "Matt's Bar". They're known for their "Juicy Lucy" hamburgers (hamburgers stuffed with cheese) and have been featured on the Food Network show "Man vs. Food" apparently. It was really busy there for lunch, but it was so worth the wait because the burgers were really good (at least that's what mom, dad, Ross and Mo said). Saturday night we just hung out at home and ate dinner there.

That's about all I know. Hope you're all having a good week!

Easter Pictures

Hi Everyone,
We had a really nice weekend in Madison. We spent time with Grandma, Noni and Mary Ann, Lori and Paul and Ross and Mo. We were able to see Mommy and Daddy's friends Gretchen and Ryan too. Mommy and Daddy said I did great in the car!

Here are a couple pictures of me in my Easter dress!

Hope you all had a great Easter!

ENT Visit

Mommy and Daddy took me to see an ENT this morning. I think I had mentioned in my last post that we had a referral to have him look at my ears since I'd had so many ear infections.

It was an interesting appointment. First they looked in my ears, then they stuck this other thing in my ear that told them that the fluid that is in there is not muffling the sounds I hear too much. Then Daddy and I had to go in this little sound proof room. Daddy held me on his lap but he couldn't say anything to me. Mommy and the nurse were outside of the room looking at us through a window. The nurse would then say something or play a sound on a speakers. They were testing to see if I would turn my head toward the sound I was hearing. The nurse said I did a really good job! Daddy said that some of the sounds were really soft but I got them all right!

Then we met with Dr. Karlan. He was a nice doctor. He talked to me and showed me the light he was going to use to look in my ear. He said that the fluid on both my ears was clearing and that they looked pretty good today. He checked out my nose and my throat and said that all looked good too.

So, the news is good. I do not have to have tubes put in my ears right now. He said that he wants us to wait to see how things go the next few months. Since it is spring and almost summer he hopes I won't have as many problems. If I have 2 ear infections in a row again that are close together then we have to go back to see him and at that time he would recommend tubes. If I only get an ear infection every few months and the antibiotics clear it up then he said that is the route to go.

So, we'll see what the next few months bring. The news doesn't mean that I might never have to have them but for now my hearing is good and my ears look good.

We're off to Madison for Easter. We're leaving in the morning. I'm excited to ride all the way there in my new "big girl" car seat.

I'll post more pictures soon and maybe a video of me clapping and doing "so big!" I'm really good at that now.

Happy Easter!
Love,
Addison

Haven't you heard? It's all the rage!

So I thought I would show you all my latest up-do. Haven't you heard that it's the big new thing? Check it out below.

The latest "do".

Actually, this is just what my hair looks like after mommy and daddy take it out of the pig tails they tried for the first time this week. It also didn't help that I really needed a bath too.

I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was spent on antibiotics once again due to ear infection #4. I guess I'm going to go see an ENT in a couple weeks so mommy and daddy can talk with them about options for helping out my ears.

I guess that's about all I know. Talk to you again soon!

Love, Addison.

Cray Hair? Or Just Plain Cute?

Hello everyone! I"m sorry that I've been a little lax in posting as of late. I've been feeling a little under the weather (yet again!). Mommy and Daddy think that this time I just have a cold. Sometimes when I'm sleeping at night I cough so much that I almost wake myself up. Hopefully it's not another nasty ear infection. I go to the doctor on Thursday to see if my last one is all cleared up. When Mommy and Daddy took me in a week ago Saturday they said that my ears weren't infected but that they did have some clear fluid in them.

It's been pretty busy around here. Mommy and Daddy had a "date night" a couple weekends ago. I got to stay and play with Mommy's friend Rochelle while she and Daddy went to dinner. This past weekend grandma was here to visit from Madison and Mommy and Daddy got to go out again (this time it was for Mommy's birthday). Next weekend Mommy's friend Cynthia is going to watch me so Mommy and Daddy can go out to dinner with some of their neighbors.

To occupy your time, here are some of my latest pictures. I hope you enjoy!

Cute look.

Sharing mommy's birthday cake.

My first pig tails!

Have a great week!

On the mend...we hope!

Good Morning! I wanted to post a quick update to let you all know that we are hoping that I am on the mend again. My fever was still high, 104.3 on Monday night and I didn't sleep very well. Daddy stayed home with me yesterday and as the day went on I seemed to get better. My fever was only 99.6 last night. I slept better last night. I was still up to eat around 1:00am and had a lot of trouble going back to sleep but Mommy and Daddy took turns with me and I finally crashed around 2:30.

I ate 3 oz of formula this morning and my temperature was normal. I'm back at Miss Barb's today. She knows she can call Mommy or Daddy if I start to feel yucky again and they will come get me. I had a big smile on my face when I saw Barb this morning and she was so excited to see me. My friends at daycare were also excited.

That's what we know for now, just wanted to thank all of you for your emails and checking in on me.

By the way, I'm 7 months old today, can you believe it?

Love,
Addison

Road to Recovery....Not!

Well, my road to recovery lasted less than 1 week! It's official, I have another ear infection. It all started again on Saturday night. After I went to bed I kept waking up and crying. Mommy got up with me around 11:30, I ate a little bit and went back to sleep about 12:15. At 1am I woke up crying really hard. Mommy and Daddy took my temperature becauase I felt warm and it was 101.0 so they gave me some motrin and walked with me until I fell back to sleep at 2:30am.

Yesterday I just wasn't myself. I didn't want to eat any cereal or fruit (you know something is wrong when I don't want my fruit) and I would only eat a couple ounces of formula at a time. I was crying off and on like something hurt and by the afternoon my temperature was 104.0. Mommy called the after hours clinic nurse and she said she thought I should go get my ears checked at urgent care. So, we loaded in the car and off we went.

The doctor at urgent care said that my left ear had an infection again and gave me some new medicine. I ate well when we got home and took my first dose. Shortly after I had it I got sick. Mommy and Daddy knew the medicine might make my tummy upset but thought that maybe I just ate too much because I had 3 Tablespoons of cereal and almost a whole container of pears...I was hungry!

Mommy stayed home with me today. My temp was 100.2 this morning so I'm still taking my Motrin. I ate my breakfast and then took my medicine for my ear. After my nap I got sick again so Mommy called the doctor back and they said I needed different medicine. I have eaten a little bit more now that the yucky medicine is not in my tummy.

Daddy went to Walgreens at lunch and picked up my new prescription and brought it home. I'll have my first dose of that after I get up from my nap. I've been on this medicine before so we know it agrees with my tummy.

I'll keep you posted but hopefully I'll be on the mend soon!

Love,
Addison

A Real Pain in the...Ear?

Greetings everyone. I hope you're all doing well. I think I'm finally on the final stretch of my road to recovery. It's been a crazy six weeks or so with all my sickness. Today, daddy took me into the doctor [again!] because he and mommy thought that maybe one of my ears was still bothering me because I kept tugging on it over the weekend. It turns out all is clear. The nice doctor said that both of my ears look good. Thank goodness! That makes us all happy!

In other news, I got to spend some quality time with daddy on Friday and today. My day care was closed Friday
and all this because Ms. Barb is on vacation. So daddy and I spent Friday and today together. He had the day off today due to President's Day. I'm going to go to one of mommy's friend's house Tuesday and Wednesday and mommy is going to stay home with me Thursday and Friday. It should all be fun.

Here are some of my latest pictures for you to enjoy.

Update

Well, Mommy and Daddy decided to call the doctor back today. I've been on my amoxicillin for a week now and I was still pulling on my ear, wasn't very interested in my bottle and was restless when I was sleeping. The clinic decided they wanted to see me. That's three times in one week!

Dr. Dufort looked in my ears, he said my right one got the all clear but my left one still didn't look good, as a matter of fact he thought maybe it looked a little worse. So, Daddy is at Walgreens as I write picking up my new medicine. Hopefully this one will clear it all up! I did think that the tool Dr. Dufort used to look in my ear was pretty cool. I tried to grab it to check it out but he said he didn't need an assistant. Maybe I will follow in Uncle Ross' footsteps and be a doctor, they have lots of neat stuff to play with!

Now it's time to try some carrots, Mommy says she is curious to see what I think of them.

Have a good night!

Addison

6-Months Old

Greetings again everyone! Well, as promised I finally got around to post my "unofficial" six month old pictures. I've also included a few bonus ones of some of my various activities over the course of the last week or so. Enjoy!

Soooooo Big!

Well hello again everyone. I though I might just check in to say "hi" and give you my latest stats. I had my six-month check-up on Monday and I'm continuing to grow like a weed. I was 27.5" long (96%) , weighed 17 lbs 3.5 oz (76%) and my head was 17 1/4" in circumfrence (85%). Pretty much as has been the case all along my length still amazes mommy and daddy. We're all pretty sure I would have weighed more except that I had RSV before Christmas then a nasty cold for the last couple of weeks. I wasn't easting as much as normal because I didn't feel very good.

We also found out that I have my first-ever double ear infection. Daddy and mommy now think they understand why I wasn't quite myself last weekend. So, I'm now taking antibiotics (amoxicillin) twice a day for 10 days to try to beat that off. I also have some drops that mommy and daddy can put in my ears as needed for comfort. The two seem to be helping. I haven't been quite as fussy when I fall asleep and I haven't been as restless when I go down either so hopefully that's a good sign.

That's all for now. I'll probably be posting again soon. Mommy and daddy took my unofficial six-month picture over the weekend and I have some more fun videos to post too.

Party Time!

Greetings again everyone! I've been on a bit of a posting spree this weekend. I just have so much to share with you all. Today's entry will show you just how much I like to play in my Exersaucer. Daddy put it together for me probably a month ago and both he and mommy had been putting me in it to play. However, it's really just been recently that I've figured out all the fun stuff on that thing! Boy is it fun! Check out the video below of me playing with some of the stuff. I've grown so much too that daddy had to raise the height setting once already.

That's all for now. I hope you all have a good rest of the weekend. We're trying to stary warm. Daddy says it's a balmy one degree outside as I'm writing this right now.

Recooping

Greetings Everyone! Well, I'm on the road to recovering from my nasty cold. I'm still not 100% yet though, but I'm getting there. I have my 6-month checkup on Monday so if I'm not totally well by then I'm sure mommy and daddy will ask them about it.

Let's see...what new stuff has happened recently? I started eating rice cereal back in December. Just last Sunday I started to have oatmeal cereal instead of the rice. I actually like the taste of that better and gobble it all up! I wasn't that I didn't like the rice I just like the oatmeal better. Earlier this week I tried some "real" food. Mommy gave me some peas to try. There are a couple of pictures and a video of that experience below.

You'll probably be able to tell from them that I'm not totally sure if I dig on the peas so much. I think mommy and daddy said there were going to try to find me some other "green" vegetables to try (whatever that means!).

That's all for now!

Sick Again...

Well, it would appear that I am working VERY hard to build up my immune system. I've decided that I might as well get it all out of the way and get as many nasty bugs as I can this winter! I woke up on Sunday morning with a cough. As the day went on I started to sound kind of like a seal. By the time I went to bed on Sunday night I was doing quite a bit of barking when I coughed. I didn't sleep well at all, the nasty cough kept waking me up.

Daddy stayed home with me yesterday and we went to the doctor late in the afternoon. The doctor said I had croup like symptoms but not bad enough that they needed to put me on any medicine. He listened to me breath and said my lungs sounded good, my ears were clear but my throat was probably sore and my cough was yucky. My nose is running and my eyes are watering. Mommy is home with me today. I didn't sleep well again last night and I'm not very hungry for my bottles. I still am excited to eat my cereal though.

Hopefully I will feel well enough to go see my friends at daycare tomorrow. It is REALLY cold here today (-16 degrees this morning) so Mommy and I are happy that we don't have to go anywhere today.

Addison

A Few Firsts...

Here I am for the first time in my high chair!
I like it a lot!

This is my new trick I learned this week! I love
to suck on my toes any chance I get!

The other big news is that I learned to roll from my tummy to my back right before Christmas and on New Year's Eve I learned to roll from my back to my tummy. Watch out, I'm on the move. I rolled all the way across the floor in the family room this morning!

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year! Mommy and Daddy keep saying they can't wait to see all the new things I learn in 2009.

Love,
Addison
